YOUTH PROGRAM INFORMATION

Youth safety orientation

We restarted the Youth program with Frank Bleszinski in charge. There will be a mandatory class on Saturday October 10th for both parents and students who wished to participate this year.  We will run another class on January 16, 2010 for those that couldn’t make this one. The class will cover basic safety and firearms knowledge will run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and conclude with shooting on the Indoor Range which will be closed during that time. A parent or guardian must attend the class and sign a release waiver prior to the student shooting. Once the student and parent have completed the class, the student may shoot at the subsequent monthly shoots.

The monthly shoots will be limited to 10 students since we only have 5 single shot .22s at present. We expect monthly meetings to go through March, at which time the program is over for the year. If there is enough interest and all can agree, we may go a few extra months.

The next meetings will be

February 13th

March 13th

from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

                          For Boy Scouts:

If you have a Boy Scout Troop which is interested in earning the Rifle Shooting Merit Badge, we can schedule a special class for you. The material and shooting can typically be covered in 2 sessions of at least 3 hours each, depending upon the number of Scouts. At least one scout master of the troop must remain present with the Scouts. This usually works out well on Saturday mornings from 8-11 or 9-12.
