As we now have certified instructors in archery, the Andover Sportsmen's Club is pleased to announce that archery courses will now be available, including fun shoots, and private and semi-private lessons and will offer group rates to organizations interested in archery. We plan to have a class on Saturday, May 15, 2010, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The class is open to club members and their children 10 years of age or older who want to get started in archery. There is no charge.
It begins with classroom instruction in the clubhouse followed by range and trail shooting. The club will provide all the archery equipment.
The class is restricted to 10 students on a first come first serve basis. You must reserve a seat prior to the course date. Please contact Brian Madden if you are interested in signing up.

Hunter Safety Education Instructors Wanted
The Andover Sportsmen’s Club is in danger of losing the “convenience and privilege” of hosting the Massachusetts Basic Hunter Education course.
This
course is now a mandatory requirement for all first time Massachusetts Hunters
seeking to obtain a hunting license.
The
course is free to the public and taught by volunteer certified Instructors.
Unfortunately, our club has only two Basic Hunter Education qualified
instructors. To date we have relied upon the availability
and goodwill of instructors from other clubs. This source of instructions may
not continue to be available to the club in the future.
The
requirement to become a Basic Hunter Education qualified instructor is minimal.
The rewards are great! To
know that you have helped train knowledgeable, ethical and safe hunters for
sport we all enjoy.
Please
consider becoming a Massachusetts Hunter Education Safety Instructor.
The program depends on volunteers like yourself.
It was also be a shame to see our Club lose a program this is such a
valuable educational asset.
For further information on becoming an Instructor, please contact either Tim Gallant at (978) 664 4729 or Brian Madden at btmadden@comcast.net.
