Granite State Bowhunters
I would like to thank Al and Brad for their work and effort for installing a set of flood lights to the left side of the outdoor archery range, done in an expeditious and professional manner. This additional set lights up the left side of the range quite well, and is appreciated.
The Tuesday night Archery attracts between 12-14 people each week. Some are regular weekly attendees, others involve club members, some with their children, looking for instruction/tips, or just to try archery out, and have a cheeseburger, hotdog, or sausage, etc. With the colder weather setting in, the woodstove provides attendees with adequate heat to warm up, and recharge batteries. I will send Paul Miller an E-mail to extend Tuesday Night Archery on the club calendar for each Tuesday (6-8 pm) through December, weather permitting, and also to post and label Tuesday the 12th &19th as Tuesday Night Turkey Shoot. Best shot winners will win a turkey, one for traditional and one for compound; note: winners will be qualified to win one turkey only per member.
The club hunt on opening day was conducted safely. Although no deer were taken, the participants felt their experience was enjoyable, and would be welcome to have future opportunities to hunt on the ASC property. They also expressed the opinion that having other ranges operational while they were hunting would have no effect their hunting prospects. Lastly, kudos to Tim Gallant for his time providing RSO help in this event.

One Day Hunt
The BOD has voted to allow on club property for one day only "deer hunting by bow and arrow only". The hunt will be limited to five hunters, on the first Monday (10/21/13) after the bow hunting deer season opens on 10/21/13. The hunt will comply with all hunting regulations, hunting to be from deer stands, and conclude sharply at 10:00 AM with all equipment removed. All ranges will be closed until cleared by Range safety officers. Interested parties are to E-Mail John Eisenhood or me by 9/21/13. Winners will be drawn by lottery. More information including deer stand locations, and other requirements to follow on our website.
The Andover Conservation Group will be using the range on Saturday, September 14th from 10 AM until noon.
It has come to the attention of the Board Of
Directors that some members may have constructed tree shooting stands on club property and that, even if pointed away from ASC property, they are
not allowed and should be taken down by the owners by no later than September
15, 2013 otherwise the BOD reserves the right to do so.
further notice the new archery tree platform and the surrounding targets
serviced by this platform are and will remain closed from 8:00 AM until 12:00

GSB Delegates needed
We need two volunteers to attend the Granite State Bowhunters meetings in NH. If anyone is interested, see Bob Felsberg.
Again, we would like you members to participate in your club and we would appreciate some input from you. Those of you who would like to join the Andover Sportsmen's Club, applications are available anytime at the club.
If you would like to join Granite State Bowhunters, applications are available only at the archery 3-D shoots.
Archers --- The 15 butts that were on the course are going to be moved to the shooting animals on the 3-D course. Remember to follow the arrows and orange tape. Any questions see Bob or one of the maintenance crew.
To you archers, of which I know there is over one hundred, come to the club to see and enjoy the course. We now have 3-D targets as well as butts on the course for you to practice with.
Come to the club on Sunday mornings, enjoy a good breakfast and rekindle old friendships. Breakfast is only $4.00 and a wonderful meal it is.
We are looking for more ideas and input.
Come on down. This is your club and range, so come and enjoy it.
Stay straight as the arrow
The Range is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
The 3D course is open during daytime hours.
